Test Riding the New Skip S3

Two weeks into the job and I’ve been featured in a photo in The Verge riding the new custom-built Skip S3 electric scooter, see the article Skip’s new scooter has a sturdier deck, bigger wheels, and a swappable battery. The first thing that impressed me about the scooter was the incredible smoothness and stability. Riding over railroad tracks and big potholes was no sweat. Performing the battery swap was seamless and quick. The deck was wide enough to allow my feet enough breathing room to not have to worry about losing balance. All these features and more, including a lower center of gravity, give rise to a much safer ride.

It’s been a thrilling transition going from working with on-the-wrist wearables at Fitbit to working on vehicles that can take you 10+ miles away from the city. Stay tuned for updates on analytics and data science work I’ll be doing using data from the advanced sensors from S3s in the field when we launch later this year.
