Google App Scripts

In my experience, especially in working with Operations teams, I’ve come to learn that using tools such as Google Sheets and Google Drive is the best option for record-keeping relatively small datasets. Google App Scripts is an immensely configurable, easy-to-code, lightweight solution for these situations. I’ve set up many different Google App Script jobs, some that would email alert me when certain criteria were met, some that would automatically validate and load flat files dropped in a folder into the data warehouse, and some that would export and insert summary tables into Google Sheets for review later. I’ve found that learning to write Javascript for Google App Scripts is invaluable, particularly if you are keen on reducing hours of repetitive work done week after week just to keep your record keeping up to date.
